Below is a list of commonly heard misconceptions we hear in the office.

1. "I thought it would get better on its own."
This is typically not true. If the problem still persists after a few days, please visit a health care professional.

2. "I was sore so I stayed on the couch all day to rest the muscles".
Again, this is typically not true. Muscles heal quicker with activity or movement. Please keep the activity within your ability.

3. "I used a heat pack all night but it was not any better this morning".
Every day this is a statement we hear. Heat feels better than an ice pack but it actually increases the inflammation process. A hot shower, hot bath or hottub is fine but direct heat to to injured tissue will increase the swelling.
