Featured Trainer: Marina Watson
Marina Watson is a personal trainer at Prime Fitness in Richmond, BC. We asked her to tell us a bit about her business and what they have to offer:
"Prime Fitness Inc. specializes in athlete training and general fitness training. Those who could benefit from our services would be athletes that would like to improve the level of their game through training and also clients who are interested in improving their overall fitness level.
A session for athletes varies based on their age, their experience with training and what phase of their season they are in. Working with younger athletes, we focus more on coordination, spacial awareness and balance while older athletes (14+) focus on agility, strength, balance and flexibility. A typical session with an athlete lasts 60-75 min.
A session with a general fitness client is focused on their training goals. We typically include cardio, strength, posture, core strength and flexibility. The training program is set up after we've done a consultation with the client to understand more about their exercise history, injury history and nutritional habits.
Prime Fitness Inc. has had the pleasure of working with athletes and teams from several minor sports organizations in Richmond and the Lower Mainland. We have been on the soccer field teaching groups how to run, we've been on the softball field teaching movement skills, we've trained hockey teams in our gym working on strength in their legs and core. Our sessions are based on the primary needs of the sport that will help athletes raise their level of play while reducing their risk of injury.
