Did you know...the spine...

The spine has 24 individual vertebrae that each have discs for cushioning and spinal nerves which exit through the spine. The spinal nerves come from the spinal cord and we know that "the nervous system controls and coordinates all organs and structures of the human body" (Gray's Anatomy). When the spinal vertebrae become misaligned, it could cause irritation to those spinal nerves which could also affect structures, organs and certain functions of the body. For instance, since the C1 nerve innervates the blood supply to the head, removing the nerve irritation through spinal adjustments could help relieve headaches.
So it's good to have regular chiropractic checkups to make sure nothing is out of alignment. Remember, symptoms are just the tip of the iceberg! There are usually many underlying factors that may be causing problems without someone feeling symptoms.
