proper sleep technique
Daily we are asked what is the proper sleeping position. This is difficult to answer because it is different for each person. Typically it is either side lying or back lying. In each position it is important to have adequate support from the bed and the pillow to keep the spine in a neutral position. In order to have sufficient bed support, the bed should not be more than 10 years old.

finding the right pillow
What is a good pillow for me? How should I choose?
Sleep is an activity with many different benefits. The most important from a chiropractors point of view is that sleep allows the body to repair itself. The body also benefits from sleep by diminished inflammation, reduces stress and keeping your heart healthy.

It is recommended that the sleep be between 7 and 8 hours per night for an adult.

neck pain after sleep
We are often asked what to do when you wake up in the morning with a sore neck? We recommend a some gentle stretching of the neck muscles and some icing (such as the levator scapulae stretch). As the day continues the muscles should loosen up. Some people will experience mild headaches in combination with the neck pain. If the muscles do not loosen or the headaches persist, you should consult our office.

groin stretch

PHNewsletterHeaderPeople that run or play sports like soccer often experience groin pain. The muscles that are often strained are the adductors. These muscles run the length of the inner leg and attach close to the knee and the pubic area.
